WISP at Dartmouth: November 10-16, 2025

November 10-16, 2025

Fall Term 2025: Week 9

Today, November 10, marks UNESCO’s World Science Day for Peace and Development.

UNESCO — the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization — was founded after the Second World War to promote peace through education, science, and culture. In the aftermath of the war, many people were skeptical that science and technology could serve purposes beyond warfare and geopolitics. This day reminds us of the vital role that science can play in fostering peace, sustainability, and shared progress around the world.

The theme for this year’s celebration is "Trust, Transformation, and Tomorrow: The Science We Need for 2050." How do you envision STEM shaping the world and promoting trust in technological advances over the next 25 years? And what part do you see yourself playing in that journey?

Have a great week,

-The WISP Team
