GWISE x WISP Journal Club!
Open to any member of WISP!
Dear WISP community,
Dartmouth’s Graduate Women in Science & Engineering (GWISE) team has generously offered to cohost a series of journal club sessions during winter and spring term! Journal clubs are a fundamental part of the graduate experience and are also a great way for undergraduates to learn how to engage with scholarly materials. Some other great reasons to participate include:
Better understand how to read a science paper and gain key take-aways
Learn how to analyze and debate science literature
Become more comfortable asking questions and speaking up in a group
Learn about methodologies and disciplines beyond your own
Gain insight and inspiration for your own research projects
Network with graduate women who have been where you are!
This is an incredible opportunity to learn about the work of our graduate student partners and expand your skills as an aspiring scientist. Sessions will most likely be held on select Tuesdays at 5:30-7PM in the LSC. The first two sessions are scheduled for Feb 11 and Feb 25. Materials will be sent ahead to those who register. It’s the expectation that registrants will attend all 6 sessions unless there is a scheduling conflict. Please register ASAP, as there will be a cap of about 20 participants per session, with a waiting list for those who register later.
Oh, and did we mention? There will be food!
If you have any questions, please reach out to [email protected]. Looking forward to seeing you there!
